Along with the theatre course SM Practicum, I was the assistant stage manager for Wirtz Center's winter play, Caucasian Chalk Circle (thought it was like a musical). This play by Bertolt Brecht is a parable about a peasant girl named Grusha who saves and raises an abandoned governor's child during a revolution, eventually winning custody from the wealthy biological mother through the chalk circle test. This was an incredibly heavy process in every direction possible, and I truly appreciate all of my colleagues who worked and supported me throughout the process.
